The ideal candidate:

  • had a similar role in important Pharmaceutical firms for at least 5 years, or comes from a major System Integration company where he/she managed important digitilization projects to improve supply chain planning, procurement, manufacturing, warehouse management and quality control process
  • is an inspiring and enthusiastic leader, capable to drive important digital transformation journeys pragmatically, with vision and deep industry knowledge
  • knows very well the complexity of digital projects in a regulated industry, where compliance to GMP and CFR 21/part 11 are a must
  • has a technical background with some of the following platforms: SAP ERP, APS systems (in particular those belonging to the SAP suite such IBP or APO), Procurement portals, MES/EBR tools, process control systems (such as SCADA and Historian tools), LIMS and ELN, Warehouse management solutions.

Responsibilities:

IT strategy and Demand Management:

  • He/She is the main ICT contact point of the Process Owners of the reference functional areas
  • Supports the Group ICT Director in the definition of the Group applications strategy
  • Develops the long term plan and the budget for the development and management of the applications of the relevant functional area
  • Collects the demand for IT applications, ensuring that the demand elements are properly evaluated, planned and implemented.
  • Manages his/her area applications’ development projects, from the project preparation phases to the post-go live support phases, planning their budget, timing, internal and external resources staffing and ensuring the appropriate project progress control and reporting.
  • Ensures that the reference area applications are properly supported and maintained; grants the appropriate service levels, leveraging internal and/or external IT resources, service contracts with suppliers, application management processes optimization, always in line with the budget constraints.

Project Management:

  • Manages his/her area applications’ development projects, from the project preparation phases to the post-go live support phases, planning their budget, timing, internal and external resources staffing and ensuring the appropriate project progress control and reporting.

Applications Operations:

  • Ensures that the reference area applications are properly supported and maintained; grants the appropriate service levels, leveraging internal and/or external IT resources, service contracts with suppliers, application management processes optimization, always in line with the budget constraints

Sourcing and procurement:

  • Co-operates with Procurement and with the Process Owners in the software and vendor selection processes; co-operates with the Legal Department to define agreements with suppliers.

In addition, the Group ICT Application Manager – SC and Manufacturing:

  • Is responsible for his/her dedicated cost centre, managing its budget and having a constant control over the expenses in co-operation with Controlling
  • Supports the Group ICT Director in in the co-operation with the Local IT Managers to ensure that local IT strategies are in line with the Group ICT strategy
  • Co-operates with the Group Infrastructure and Security Manager to ensure that Applications are implemented in the appropriate infrastructure and comply with the security policies and procedures
  • Co-operates with QA and CSV functions to ensure the validation of GxP-critical Applications
  • Coordinates his/her functional analysts’ team
