What a typical day with us looks like :

  • Harness your creativity and people skills to make impactful presentations to potential customers and act as a Creaform resource person;
  • Draw on your analytical talents to assess customer needs and offer them the best 3D scanning and probing solutions for their requirements;
  • Perform remote and on-site data acquisition (3D laser scanning and probing inspection) for Creaform customers;
  • Use 3D data acquisition, post treatment, reverse engineering and inspection software to generate deliverable expected by the client;
  • Work closely with customers, distributors, and affiliates as well as colleagues to organize training, integration, and project implementation activities using our 3D scanners;
  • Adapt methods or troubleshoot to resolve problems related to technology use;
  • Contribute to new technologies development by testing new products and sharing your improvement suggestions;
  • Help draft and translate technical and training documents.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Has at least a bachelor’s degree + 2 years experience in mechanical engineering or the equivalent;
  • Has ideally worked in metrology, 3D scanning, automation and robotics before;
  • Is fluent in Italian and English (a little German or French would be an asset);
  • Has a knack for sales and customer services;
  • Is a keen traveler and fast learner;
  • Is a take-charge person with a can-do attitude.

Position Overview:

The role of the Application Engineer is to develop competitive and specific products for existing market segments or to conquer, in direct liaison with the customer or final prospect, by providing technical and economic support to customers and the sales department. It acts as an interface between engineering, the application and development laboratory, sales, marketing and customers. The Application Engineer manages and carries out the tests of applied products to develop the best solution in terms of performance and costs, accomplishing technical requirements, policies, decrees and normative. Customer visits, organizing and conducting technical training on products and applications, are also the main roles of this position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the development of applications working directly with the customers to provide all technical information, data, and application support required for the customer, defining the most appropriate “Tecumseh’s product”, requiring appropriate tests and analysis, approving the application, and following the launch/implementation of the product on customer. “Tecumseh’s products” includes fixed or variable speed compressors, controls, condensing units, and complete refrigeration systems.
  • Aligned to the sales and marketing teams, planning to visit customers for technical support activities and meetings related to product selection, application developments, technical requirements, approval, validation and market launch.
  • Prospect opportunities with customers for Tecumseh’s business subsidizing marketing, sales and engineering on product development roadmap, PRJ and other new products strategies.
  • Ownership of product sampling and sample evaluation programs and follow up, (opening of the CS, for application testing in Tecumseh’s laboratory or at the customer facility).
  • Align to the laboratory the technical equipment and specific resources needed for the application development.
  • Follow up the product development projects for which are responsible, controlling and guaranteeing the progress of studies and alert in case of deviation from deadlines and objectives.
  • Can bring expertise and/or participation in working groups within the Tecumseh Group as part of global projects.
  • Develop case studies, publications, technical presentations, policy bulletins, cross-references of products (compared to the competitor), associated with customer presentations, lectures and seminars, trade shows preparation and participation, and other technical events for industries and partnerships.
  • Seek information on trade movements, market/competitors regarding technical issues, contributing to the technological watch.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the product change in the market.
  • Coordinate the exchange of technical experiences between the client and Tecumseh.
  • Provide technical support to customers and users.
  • Ensure the follow-up of technical issues with internal departments (Product Eng., Quality, Research & Development, Production, Laboratories, etc.)
  • Contributes to the company’s continuous improvement process, particularly when dealing with customer complaints.
  • Properly use the systems and resources made available by the company to carry out their work in accordance with the defined rules and procedures.
  • Have knowledge and comply with the standards, procedures or work instructions, defined by the quality, environment, safety and occupational health systems, according to their field of activity, established by the company or the legislation in force.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electronic or HVAC/thermal engineering.
  • Knowledge of Sales, Sales Engineering, or other client-focused experience .
  • Technical knowledge and expertise of commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning applications, systems design, and refrigerant properties, including selection, application, and approval of both fixed speed and inverter-design variable-speed compressors, controls, and other components inside the applications.
  • Knowledge of electronics and controls used in commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning applications.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Fluent professional English.
  • Ability to identify, interpret, and apply industry and client-test-standards related to product design, performance testing, application testing, agency approval, and regulatory / legal compliance.
  • Ability to analyze both internal and client-generated application testing data. To identify and implement effective solutions to resolve concerns and keep projects moving forward.
  • Ability to build solid relationships with clients based on strong leadership skills, technical compliance, high work ethics, and trustworthy.
  • Strong technical writing, verbal communication, problem solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications including database and collaboration tools.

Additional Information

Travel: Estimated 10-25% required, mainly to clients supporting Sales teams and technical collaboration.

Overview

Vicor Corporation designs, manufactures and markets modular power components and complete power systems used in the aerospace and defense electronics, enterprise and high performance computing, industrial equipment and automation, telecommunications and network infrastructure, and vehicles and transportation markets. Vicor is expanding its footprint in the automotive industry, partnering with companies developing mild hybrids, EV/HEV and autonomous vehicles, and building opportunities with tier ones and OEMs for high voltage to 48-volt architectures and 48 V to 12 V systems where electrification drives higher efficiency, power density, lower cost and lighter weight.

Position: The main responsibility of the FAE is to proactively support Vicor power solutions into various market opportunities including automotive, industrial, aerospace & defense, and high performance computing. This involves coordination with Business Development Managers, Account Managers and internal partners, providing pre- and post-sales technical support including product selection based on customer application needs, product introduction and DIN assistance from an electrical, mechanical and thermal perspective, and troubleshooting customer systems as required.

Responsibilities
  • Articulate technology, power architectures and product positioning to both business and technical users.
  • Business / Relationship development focused on direct – business development with customers and their technical community.
  • Distribution – business development conducted with channel partners at target accounts.
  • Capture technical requirements and architecture of a customer’s system and act as liaison to Product Line Engineers.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle with the customer engineering staff.
  • Schematic review and project support on existing customer programs.
  • Cover incoming customer phone and email technical inquiries.
  • Regular customer visits requiring 30–50% travel.
  • Prepare content and conduct technical seminars and conferences.
  • Provide product training to selected customers across various segments.
  • Assist with hands-on product evaluations in local labs.
  • Enable channel demand creation by technically qualifying new opportunities and helping increase the conversion rate from new design identified to design win.
  • Support customers and channel partners on technical issues.
  • Visit channel customers for application engineering support and distribution branch offices for technical product trainings/presentations.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; minimum of 5 years related experience in analog/power supply design or analog-based applications engineering.
  • Automotive market experience desired.
  • Capable Electronics Technician skills.
  • Good understanding of analog circuit designs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience dealing with distribution partners.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, results-oriented, problem solver focused on driving business.
  • High level of interpersonal skills with ability to present to audiences.
  • Balance between short-term achievement and long-term development; strong business acumen.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Italian.
  • Computer literate including CRM systems knowledge (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Full clean driving license.

Position

The main responsibility of the FAE position is to proactively support Vicor power solutions into various market opportunities including:
