To lead our Italian Operations team we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Head of Operations . This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing and optimising our Operations to support continued business growth.
Not only will you be leading the Operations department, you will also be a member of our Country Management team, working with senior leaders on delivering long term business strategies.
If you have strong leadership skills, a sharp focus on efficiency and experience in operations management, this could be the right challenge for you!
What is your role?
Lead the development and implementation of multi-year plans for such an important area of responsibility, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, and ensuring integration with the wider company strategy.
You will lead teams and oversee operations activities and ensure excellent partnering relationships with internal clients;
You will manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team . The team consists of about 70 people (permanent and temporary workers) among which 5 direct reports;
You will ensure that we comply with HSE legislation and promote a safety first culture within the site;
You will be responsible of the processes involved in transportation to ensure our customers’ satisfaction, minimize costs and delivery times;
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of site maintenance , statutory compliance and the general upkeep of the building and grounds.
Who are you?
Demonstrated success in managing logistics function;
Experience in facilities management and transport;
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, safe systems and compliance requirements;
Strong leadership and team management abilities with advanced communication skills;
Ability to analyse data and monitor KPIs and drive performance;
Problem solving mindset with the ability to make quick informed decisions when required;
Excellent business English skills (B2 / C1 level).

Job description
Planet Smart City’s Real Estate Business Unit is engaged in the building, co-development and regeneration of cities, districts, and neighbourhoods both at horizontal and vertical scale. Poised for global scale-up, Planet is looking to replicate the success of the completed flagship projects across new countries and regions, in a modular, efficient, sustainable fashion, with the construction target of 45,000 units per year by 2030. The Real Estate Business Operations Analyst provides senior leadership and key critical external shareholders with information about the status of RE projects and with market insights to support the RE CEO’s strategy setting and decision making.
Responsabilities- Build, scale, maintain and communicate detailed reporting models alongside the Finance team to assist expansion efforts and make data-driven decisions, including financial modelling for joint ventures and project development.- Track Planet's real estate projects by creating key performance indicators (e.g. efficiency levels, financial goals), overseeing execution by analysing efficiency and performance of real estate projects.- Investigating deviations from standard KPIs and escalating issues and concerns to senior leadership to minimise deviation from standards.- Ensuring the implementation of strategies to improve performance and of corrective measures decided by senior leadership.- Validating data related to RE projects to be reported and shared internally and externally.- Carry out business intelligence activities, including competitor analyses, to investigate external factors which impact company performance in order to provide a comprehensive view of the business to support strategy setting and implementation.
Experience & Skills Essential- 3-5 years experience in a relevant function in the Real Estate sector or in financial firms or consultancies serving the RE sector or similar.
Preferable- Business case analysis- Financial modelling- Performance analysis- Business intelligence and competitor analyses- Financial writing skills- Reporting skills- Attention to detail in data analysis- Fluent written and spoken Italian and English- Portuguese / Spanish, whilst not necessary, would be a bonus

Job description

The Real Estate Business Operations Partnership Manager role is pivotal in accelerating scale-up growth by executing the Real Estate CEO’s strategy, brokering, negotiating, and managing the partnerships’ pipeline under the Head of the Real Estate Business Operations’ instructions, working towards the implementation of the CEO’s vision, and mediating financial analysis and insights with Planet’s finance team. It will therefore require a blend of commercial acumen, relationship-building, and project management skills, as well as the all-important ability to comprehend, interpret and challenge financial models and budgets. This is a newly created unit, whose Head believes in teamwork, working in lockstep with the CEO, and whose success largely depends on a positive propensity to collaboration and excellent communication between members of the team and other internal stakeholders.

As a leader on cyber security in the company, the SecOps team manager will collaborate with our Organisational Learning and Development team to develop playbooks and facilitate SecOps training across Canonical. They will operate in a wider security organisation, run a high performing security team and improve Canonical's security posture. They will lead initiatives to integrate the team's insights into Canonical's broader software development process.
While this is a management position, we expect managers to be expert practitioners, able to lead by example, contribute at the highest level, and assess work based on their own professional experience and skill. Candidates should have deep, hands-on expertise with a range of open source and proprietary security tooling and practices, which they can integrate into a holistic next generation security solution across the breadth of Canonical's interests.
The SecOps team's mission is not only to secure Canonical, but also to contribute to the security of the wider open source ecosystem. They might share knowledge through public presentations and industry events, and share threat intelligence with the wider community or represent Canonical in sector-specific governance bodies.
This role reports to the CISO.
What you will do in this role:
- Hire and mentor a team of outstanding technical security professionals
- Define Canonical's SecOps security standards and playbooks
- Own and drive the architecture and design of the SOC
- Analyse and improve Canonical's security architecture
- Evaluate, select and implement new security tools and practices
- Identify, contain and guide the remediation of security threats and cyber attacks
- Grow the presence and thought leadership of Canonical SecOps practice
- Contribute to open source threat intelligence initiatives
- Drive threat modelling, table top exercises and other SecOps practices across Engineering, IS and Canonical
- Develop Canonical SecOps learning and development materials
- Publish blog posts, whitepapers and conference presentations
- Identify, implement and track SecOps KPIs
- Plan and deliver SecOps work in the framework of Canonical's agile engineering practice
- Work with Security leadership to present information and influence change
- Proven track record of mitigating with advanced threat actors and nation state threats
- Expert technical understanding of SOCs from the ground up
- In depth knowledge of SOC architecture and design including strategies for logging, firewalls, network segmentation, honeypots etc
- Someone who understands how the SOC works not just how to use it
- Expert in Linux security
- Ability to define, implement, automate and measure effective incident response playbooks
- Knowledge of security architecture and market-leading security tools
- Experience contributing to, and consuming, threat intelligence feeds
- Experience in security risk management frameworks such as NIST CSF
- An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path
- Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations
- Deep personal motivation to be at the forefront of technology security
- Leadership and management ability
- Excellent business English writing and presentation skills
- Confidence to report security performance metrics with accountability for accuracy and completeness
- Experience in offensive or defensive security teams with hands-on ability
- Experience with open source security tools
- Experience with security standards such as ISO 27001
- Experience with security posture management of corporate endpoitns
