**Main Purpose**
The Statistical/Research Assistant performs a variety of routine technical, procedural and record-keeping support duties contributing to statistical data collection and presentation.
**Supervision Received/Exercised**
The Statistical/Research Assistant works under direct supervision of the Senior Fishery Officer/Team Leader of the Statistics Team of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Division and receives guidance from the Statistical Associate of the Team. He/she acts independently in routine matters. Supervision received provides for technical and procedural guidance and on-the-job learning opportunities.
**Working Relationships**
The Statistical/Research Assistant engages with colleagues from within the work unit and with immediate clients supported, providing routine and standard services in assistance of data collection, analysis and presentation.
**Key Functions/Results**
- Compile data from source material such as questionnaires, publications, surveys, research projects, websites, reports, databases, etc.

**Reporting Lines**
The Fishery Officer (Aquaculture National Planning and Development) reports to the Senior Fishery Officer/NFIAN Team Leader in the Sustainable Aquaculture area under the overall supervision of the Deputy Director, NFI.
**Technical Focus**
Support the preparation and implementation of aquaculture strategies, policies, plans and programmes of work that seek to maximize the contribution of aquaculture on countries' economic, social and environmental objectives, including food security, nutrition and health and align with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) targets. The programme of work and activities should follow the FAO Common Vision for Sustainable Food and Agriculture and the FAO Code of Conduct on Responsible Fisheries and the FAO Guidelines for Sustainable Aquaculture and associated technical guidelines. These efforts should address keys sustainability principles such as ecological balance, efficient resource use, equity and resilience, and seek to mitigate the impacts of climate change on aquaculture while reducing the sector's vulnerability to climate change and other external stressors.

The Assistant CRA performs remote activities on assigned projects in liaison with the Remote CRA, On-Site CRA and study CTM. Provides support with regards to site preparedness, logístical support to the monitoring process, and assist with assigned tasks for site management and remote monitoring in accordance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines. May be assigned limited site contact activities during study start-up, site management, recruitment and close out phases.
**Essential Functions**:
- Completes study and site management activities as defined in task matrix, and as applicable and directed for study assigned.
- Completes and documents study-specific training.
- Orients and trains on any CRG/study-specific systems.
- Provides in-house support during pre-study assessments and with pre-study asssessment waivers, as agreed for project.
- Supports to customize Site ICF with site contact details, as needed.Performs remote review of EMR/EHR checklist and supports collection, as applicable assessments.
- Verifies document collection and RCR submission status; updates site EDL and verifies site information.
- Reviews patient facing materials and review translations, as directed.Supports site staff with the vendor related qualification process, where applicable.
