A day in the lifeThis is a unique opportunity to be part of a strategic initiative at Outbrain. We expect you to be the visible leader and Top Client representative in the market (and internally) and the senior commercial leader for all existing key accounts, this includes holding QBR’s, doing negotiations and serving as an escalation point. You will be managing a team of individuals who are resourceful, bright, and proactive and who work well both independently. One challenge will be changing the mindset to be more commercial and working more strategically with account plans, etc. You can also expect a great working environment with a committed, energetic and international team.
Your first year should look like this
In your first month, you should find your bearings, get to know your team, do a deep dive into the Outbrain product, and start to build key internal and external relationships.
After three months, you will be an expert in (native) advertising and you’ll have mastered our positioning within the digital landscape. You’ll be able to confidently and effectively deliver our pitch and will have already completed several client meetings. You’ll have got to know your team in and out.
After six months, you will have successfully closed an abundance of business reviews, as well as have significantly grown a number of key existing accounts.
When you finish up your first year, you’ll be an essential part of Germany's commercial team and be the driving force behind taking the team to the next level.

We are seeking an experienced Business Manager to join our team. Job Description
The European Acquirer Business Development team drives pan-European growth through close collaboration with strategic partners and internal teams across Visa, including sales, account management, product, finance, marketing, legal, and consulting. Head of Account Management
We're looking for an experienced and motivated leader to join our Account Management team in Italy. You will be responsible for building, mentoring, and coaching a team of team leads and account managers who are crucial to the strategic growth of our key merchant relationships and payment revenue. You thrive on setting a clear strategic direction, driving operational excellence, and fostering a high-performance culture. As a critical leader for our Italian operations, you will be a key contributor to the long-term success of Adyen in this market.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic direction: Define and execute a clear, ambitious strategy for the Italian Account Management team. Empower managers to lead their teams toward ambitious commercial goals and operational excellence.
- Mentor and develop managers: Serve as a coach and mentor for your direct reports, providing clear expectations and actionable feedback to foster their growth as leaders. Instill a culture of continuous learning and strategic thinking.
- Drive commercial growth: Partner with key merchants at the C-level to provide strategic and consultative advice that influences their global payments strategy and expands their business with Adyen. You'll be comfortable with nuanced payment discussions, quantitative analysis, and high-level technical conversations.
- Embody Adyen's leadership principles: Actively listen to and build trust with your team and key merchant contacts at all levels of seniority. Be a hands-on leader who can engage and inspire others, demonstrating strong emotional intelligence and judgment.
- Maintain operational excellence: Ensure consistent and effective management practices across the team. Streamline operations and hold the team accountable for clear, consistent follow-ups and planning.
- Recruit and develop talent: Attract and onboard new team members who embody the Adyen culture and possess the commercial acumen and strategic mindset needed for success.

- A seasoned leader: You have proven experience managing managers and developing multi-level teams. You're passionate about coaching and mentoring others to help them reach their full potential.
- A strategic and commercial expert: You have a strong commercial sense and the ability to identify merchant needs and create solutions that benefit all parties. You're a confident, external-facing leader who can negotiate effectively and skilled in managing high-stakes discussions.
- An exceptional communicator: You communicate with clarity and efficiency, both in writing and speaking. You possess strong relationship-building skills and a high degree of empathy and emotional intelligence.
- An analytical thinker: You're comfortable with quantitative analysis and technical discussions, demonstrating a high aptitude for the payments industry.
- An entrepreneurial mindset: You're a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ambitious, curious, and humble. You're a team player who is direct and adaptable.
- Required Qualifications:
- +10 years of experience in a senior leadership role within account management or business development, including building and scaling large, multi-level teams.
- Proven experience within the enterprise payments space is a strong advantage.
- Full professional proficiency in Italian and English.
