Overview

Join to apply for the Senior CAD Design Engineer role at The Exploration Company . Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

You will be successful in this role if you are able to help us define and mature the vehicle architecture and support certification activities.

Responsibilities
  • To contribute to the definition of our overall vehicle architecture
  • To contribute to the detailed definition of our vehicle
  • To contribute to the certification of our vehicle
  • To build the CAD physical models of the vehicle and their sub-systems on Siemens NX and contribute to choices in terms of overall architecture, aeroshape, equipment accommodation and main materials
  • To mature the CAD models by adjusting the architecture, accommodation, structure materials and thicknesses based on thermo-mechanical computation loops and system trade-offs
  • To collaborate closely with thermal and structural analysts, materials and manufacturing engineers to ensure compliance of the physical architecture with mission environments and manufacturing constraints
  • To ensure the configuration management of the CAD models
  • To manage the vehicle structure mass budget, aided by the CAD model, and track it in the overall system database
  • To contribute to co-engineering sessions with other disciplines by sharing guidelines or orders of magnitude to converge on feasible solutions
  • To define the volume allocations and clearances specifications towards the vehicle sub systems
  • To contribute to the improvement of CAD tools and processes
  • To effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data
  • To provide technical documentation and drawings and participate in reviews of designed systems
  • To interact with space agencies and ensure support towards the flight certification of the vehicle
  • To contribute to the validation and verification of the requirements
Qualifications
  • An advanced degree in mechanical, aerospace or manufacturing engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a CAD Design Engineer
  • Strong experience with Siemens NX CAD tool
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace vehicle design and associated challenges
  • Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards
  • Good understanding of the spacecraft certification process
  • Experience in Composite design is a plus
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) is a plus
  • Fluent in English. German, French and Italian are an asset

Key Responsibilities

We want you as a talented Senior CAD Designer to help us in our mission by modelling the physical architecture of our spacecraft.

You will be successful in this role if you are able to help us:

  • To contribute to the definition of our overall vehicle architecture
  • To contribute to the detailed definition of our vehicle
  • To contribute to the certification of our vehicle
Key Responsibilities
  • To build the CAD physical models of the vehicle and their sub-systems on Siemens NX and contribute to the choices in terms of overall architecture, aeroshape, equipment accommodation and main materials
  • To maturate the CAD models by adjusting the architecture, accommodation, structure materials and thicknesses based on the outcomes of the thermo-mechanical computation loops and system trade-offs
  • To collaborate closely with thermal and structural analysts, materials and manufacturing engineers to ensure compliance of the physical architecture with the mission environments and manufacturing constraints
  • To ensure the configuration management of the CAD models
  • To manage the vehicle structure mass budget, aided by the CAD model, and track it in the overall system database
  • To contribute to co-engineering sessions with the other disciplines, by sharing guidelines or orders of magnitude in order to converge on the feasibility of a solution, based on engineering feeling or simplified analytical approach
  • To define the volume allocations and clearances specifications towards the vehicle sub systems
  • To contribute to the improvement of CAD tools and processes
  • To effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data
  • To provide technical documentation & drawings and participate to reviews of designed systems
  • To interact with space agencies and ensure support towards the flight certification of the vehicle
  • To contribute to the validation and verification of the requirements
Qualifications
  • An advanced degree in mechanical, aerospace or manufacturing engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a CAD Design Engineer
  • Strong experience with Siemens NX CAD tool
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace vehicle design and associated challenges
  • Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards
  • Good understanding of the spacecraft certification process
  • Experience in Composite design is a plus
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) is a plus
  • Fluent in English. German, French and Italian are an asset.

Quest Global ( leader nel settore dei servizi di ingegneria, per il rafforzamento della propria Divisione Aviation, seleziona un profilo di MECHANICAL CAD DESIGN ENGINEER - AVIATION DOMAIN Sede di lavoro: area Torino Le risorse selezionate, all’interno di un team chiamato a fornire supporto ingegneristico a programmi di sviluppo relativi a componenti aeronautici, saranno coinvolte in attività di modellazione tridimensionale e messa in tavola di singoli componenti meccanici o sistemi complessi. Requisiti Il profilo ideale risulta in possesso dei seguenti requisiti: Laurea in Ingegneria Meccanica/Aerospaziale; Esperienza di almeno un paio d'anni in attività di progettazione maturata in contesti aziendali modernamente organizzati e strutturati, idealmente afferenti i settori Aeronautico, Aerospaziale, o ambiti analoghi; Solide conoscenze in materia di disegno tecnico e GD&T; Capacità di disegnazione meccanica unitamente a capacità d’uso di uno o più tra i maggiormente diffusi tools CAD (idealmente Siemens NX) per modellazione tridimensionale e messa in tavola; Buona padronanza della lingua inglese. Completano il profilo ideale spiccate doti analitiche, di problem solving, organizzazione e metodo, orientamento al risultato in contesto lavorativo dinamico e caratterizzato da stringenti deadlines, affidabilità, attitudine al al lavoro in team nonché forti capacità di comunicazione e gestione delle relazioni, unitamente a flessibilità organizzativa e disponibilità ad effettuare trasferte.
