We are looking for an import specialist for our Branch in Fiumicino (RM).

The role of the import specialist is to process and handle air and ocean import shipments for our customers, ensuring the highest quality standards and providing service solutions that meet or exceed our customer’s requirements. An import specialist may also oversee the Customs House Brokerage (CHB) process and ensure compliance with laws and regulations, as well as JAS Forwarding operating procedures. This position may be responsible for the completion of all custom house broker transactions and other government agency regulations in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare, review and process appropriate documents (i.e. customers classification, commercials invoices, etc.) ensuring files contain all necessary copies, are accurate and in the proper sequence
  • Process customs entries and check customs release details to ensure any discrepancies are handled promptly and accurately
  • Receive and track customer bookings/shipments, update client of shipment status/delays, dispatch for delivery, collect proof of delivery (POD), cost and invoice all files
  • Comply with all company business process guidelines
  • Bill/Invoice each file to the respective customers paying close attention to payment terms for the responsible party
  • Resolve and reconcile incorrect payables by working with vendors and overseas offices
  • Provide accurate job costing forecast ensuring all payables, receivables and accruals are set and properly managed per company rules and guidelines
  • Provide responsive customer service
  • Dispatch freight for delivery, maintain communication with trucker throughout delivery

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years experience in imports or combination of education and expertise required
  • Experience and knowledge regarding import entry procedures, compliance, rules and regulations preferred
  • Knowledge of First Port of Arrival (FPOA) entry processes is preferred
  • English speaking / writing.

Richiesti pregressa esperienza nel ruolo e inglese fluente, fondamentale la conoscenza di tutte le attività relative allo sdoganamento.

Responsibilities

La figura si occuperà di gestire e coordinare i flussi di acquisto, vendita e logistica, con particolare attenzione alla gestione delle attività di sdoganamento, acquisti, vendite e gestione delle problematiche connesse alla merce in arrivo o in partenza.

Responsabilità principali :

  • Sdoganamento Inbound DAP :
  • Gestione dei container provenienti dalla Cina e / o via camion / treno, incluse comunicazioni con spedizionieri, invio istruzioni e risoluzione problematiche doganali
  • Controllo delle bolle doganali e delle fatture passive handling container (spedizionieri)
  • Gestione dell'autofattura (preparazione documenti, invio a spedizionieri, registrazione su SAP)
  • Coordinamento con il magazzino per le consegne
  • Sdoganamento piccole spedizioni tramite FEDEX / UPS o altri per campioni, UK e CH
  • Gestione consegna container “dedicati” ai clienti

Acquisti :

  • Contatto con il Business Unit (BU) per emissione ordini di acquisto, invio merce al magazzino e coordinamento delle consegne
  • Verifica con BU e HQ per le rilavorazioni della merce e gestione delle istruzioni per la lavorazione
  • Coordinamento con il magazzino per la gestione delle lavorazioni (invio materiale e PWT con istruzioni)
  • Gestione problematiche merce (colli danneggiati, merce mancante o non conforme)
  • Controllo e archiviazione del pre-shipment report per merce in arrivo
  • Inserimento ordini Marketing e After Sales
  • Forecast supportato dal team Sales
  • Controllo fatture magazzino
  • Vendite :

  • Inserimento ordini a sistema delle BU, invio conferma ordine e fattura alla merce spedita
  • Preparazione documenti per lo sdoganamento della merce destinata a UK e CH

    • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
    • Detail oriented
    • Able to work in a team and independently


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


    • High School Diploma
    • Minimum 2 years experience in imports or combination of education and expertise required
    • Experience and knowledge regarding import entry procedures, compliance, rules and regulations preferred
    • Knowledge of First Port of Arrival (FPOA) entry processes is preferred
    • English speaking / writing.
