The primary responsibility of the candidate will be to define and implement AI-driven solutions to support both the design process and the project management of Build to Print activities. This includes leveraging AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to validate engineering deliverables before release to suppliers, with the goal of achieving first-time-right quality and reducing rework.

In addition to AI integration, the candidate will contribute to the development of design validation and simulation models for analyzing cable flexibility and understanding the mechanical behavior of wiring harnesses in relation to the movement of connected components. Expert-level knowledge of IPS Cable Simulation by Flexstructure is required to effectively cover the Build To Print scope.

Experience band: 3 to 5 years on automotive field, mainly on Wiring Harness Design.

MAIN MISSION & ACTIVITIES

  • Develop AI-driven workflows to validate Build to Print deliverables before supplier release, ensuring first-time-right quality.
  • Identify and apply AI and data-driven solutions to automate repetitive tasks, improve design efficiency, and elevate overall product quality.
  • Work closely with design teams to define and refine engineering Build To Print methodologies.
  • Extend and optimize the use of IPS Cable Simulation to improve the robustness of engineering deliverables and proactively identify and resolve potential issues during the design phase.
  • Support the standardization of simulation and design validation processes across all global Build To Print projects.
  • Provide trainings on Build to Print for IPS cable, DFMEA and all necessary process workflow.

REQUIREMENTS

Technical Skills:

  • Electrotechnics fundamental knowledge
  • Materials Science Understanding of mechanical and electrical properties of materials used in wiring systems:
  • Conductors: Copper, Aluminum
  • Knowledge of aging, thermal, and mechanical stress behavior of materials in automotive environments.
  • Simulation & Mechanical Analysis IPS Cable Simulation (Flexstructure) – Expert level knowledge required for cable dynamics and flexibility analysis.
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) – Familiarity with tools such as Ansys, Abaqus, or Altair for structural and mechanical simulations.
  • General Engineering & Productivity Tools Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and engineering calculations.
  • Good command of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) for documentation, presentations, and communication.
  • Power BI – Not mandatory but considered a valuable plus for data visualization and reporting.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., Catia V6, NX) for mechanical context analysis.
  • Artificial Intelligence & Automation Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Copilot, GenerativeAI) applied to engineering workflows.
  • Basic understanding of Machine Learning concepts and their application in design validation or data-driven decision-making.
