Job Description:

  • Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
  • Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
  • Provide patient/family centered care using the nursing process and focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This includes providing for the assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with the policies of MUSC.
  • Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model. This includes participating in shared governance, adherence to standards of care, participation in peer review and professional development promoting leadership and clinical excellence, effective team skills, autonomous practice and acknowledgment of accountability for actions and critical thinking.
  • Coordinates the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through the application of care management principles. Identifies clinical priorities and initiates action to improve patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrates ability to function in a professional practice model through active participation in shared governance, promotion of a healthy work environment and acceptance of personal responsibility for professional growth.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements: Associate's Degree, and a minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Experience: ER experience required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills for tasks such as taking patient vitals, administering injections, or conducting physical exams.
  • Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed.
  • Visual acuity and color perception to accurately read medical charts, documents, and monitors.
  • Auditory ability to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues, as well as to perceive important sounds such as alarms or patient instructions.
  • Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of providing patient care, including long shifts and potentially stressful situations.
  • Mobility to navigate clinical environments, including moving between patient rooms, offices, and other areas of the facility.
  • Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner
  • Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects
  • Operate light and heavy equipment, handles various hand tools and powered industrial tools, works with vibration-producing tools
  • Wear and properly use a variety of personal protective Equipment (PPE). Including respirators, skin, face, hand and foot protection in a multiple number of combinations
  • Work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Work in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic, or corrosive
  • Work in potentially elevated noise levels, confined spaces, including lifting in areas of low clearance
  • Work at elevations including working from ladders and scaffolding
  • Assist in field sampling activities and calibration of meters
  • Climb ladders, scaffolding and into and out of trucks, tanks, and various other containers
  • Work extended (> 8 hrs.) time periods
  • Attend all compliance and safety update meetings
  • Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance
  • Safe loading and unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
  • Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary
  • Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
  • Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
  • Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • By position, ability to be on call for emergency response on rotating basis every other week
  • By position, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and the handling of hazardous materials

  • Participate in monthly PDC/OCT meetings and quarterly/annual provincial review meetings with government counterparts and partners.
  • Coordinate sensitization and joint technical support missions with line department authorities on the ABC modality and build partner capacity in the province.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Identify and support field sales efforts through customer needs assessment, product training, in servicing, and required customer follow up (i.e., letters, approved product information, samples).
  2. Maintain and develop expertise on assigned Teleflex Medical Products and cross-train as required to enhance product knowledge and expand the support capabilities of the Clinical Support Department.
  3. Expand the Teleflex Medical customer base and strengthen customer relationships through consultation, networking, and communication.
  4. Work in conjunction with sales representatives and sales management to properly identify and prioritize customer opportunities and provide support to the sales force to help achieve corporate, regional, and territory sales goals and objectives.
  5. Manage all associated administrative tasks and responsibilities (i.e. submitting expense reports, monthly reports, communication with internal and external customers) in a timely and professional manner and in keeping with company policies, procedures and guidelines.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

  • Graduate of an accredited university, college, or community college program in the clinical specialty area or equivalent practical experience in the medical device sales or medical product training.
  • Minimum of five years clinical experience in hospital and/or alternate site care setting, or three year experience in medical device training, or equivalent.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS : Additional preferred or required qualifications.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES : 1. Identify and support field sales efforts through customer needs assessment, product training, in servicing, and required customer follow up (i.e., letters, approved product information, samples). 2. Maintain and develop expertise on assigned Teleflex Medical Products and cross-train as required to enhance product knowledge and expand the support capabilities of the Clinical Support Department. 3. Expand the Teleflex Medical customer base and strengthen customer relationships through consultation, networking, and communication. 4. Work in conjunction with sales representatives and sales management to properly identify and prioritize customer opportunities and provide support to the sales force to help achieve corporate, regional, and territory sales goals and objectives. 5. Manage all associated administrative tasks and responsibilities (i.e. submitting expense reports, monthly reports, communication with internal and external customers) in a timely and professional manner and in keeping with company policies, procedures and guidelines. 6. Keep current with new technologies, procedures, published literature, clinical initiatives/guidelines, competitive landscape, and industry trends related to the Teleflex Medical products within assigned responsibility areas and communicate pertinent information to the appropriate sales and corporate departments. 7. Participate in scientific and promotional activities at all identified local, regional, and exhibitions (this may also include training and presentations). 8. Identify and make recommendations to Corporate Training, Sales Management and Marketing regarding product training needs of the sales organization; assist in determining the most desirable, effective and efficient means to provide necessary training. 9. Contribute to the education of new field personnel and other company personnel by providing training/education on products, end-users, and competitors. 10. Work cooperatively with Corporate Accounts to support corporate customers (GPO’s, IDN’s, government facilities, etc.) with product information, product training, accurate cross-references and other technical information about Teleflex Medical products. 11.
