Job Description
About Safe Harbor Law Firm
At Safe Harbor Law Firm, we believe estate planning is about more than documents—it’s about giving families peace of mind with a plan. We’ve built a process that simplifies legal solutions for clients, and we’re looking for a Managing Attorney to lead our client engagement team.
This role is ideal for an experienced attorney who:
- Thrives on building trust with clients and guiding families to solutions
- Enjoys meaningful, consultative conversations—not just transactions
- Wants to lead a team while keeping a personal connection with clients
- Is comfortable helping families with estate planning, probate, and trust administration decisions, often during emotional life transitions
You’ll focus primarily on consultations, sales, and client relationship management, while mentoring our legal team on process and delivery.
Role Summary
This is not a back-office role. As Managing Attorney, you’ll lead our client consultations and closing process, guiding prospective clients through estate planning, probate, and trust administration decisions with empathy and clarity. About 80% of your time will be in sales conversations, helping families choose the right path forward. The remaining 20% will focus on team leadership, mentoring our attorneys and helping refine service delivery across estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters.
If you thrive in a consultative sales environment, enjoy building trust with clients, and have the legal background to guide families through estate and trust solutions, this could be your next role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initial client consultations—guide prospective clients to understand their estate planning, probate, and trust administration needs and choose the right solution
- Convert qualified leads into happy clients through a goal-focused, value-driven sales process
- Oversee and mentor the attorney team on probate, trust administration, and estate planning service delivery
- Collaborate with firm leadership to improve client onboarding, retention, and satisfaction
- Maintain high closing rates and meet client engagement KPIs across estate planning and post-death administration services
- Provide legal oversight on select complex matters when needed (minimal drafting required)
Qualifications
- Active Florida Bar license (required)
- Minimum 5–7 years of legal practice
- At least 2 years of estate planning experience required
- Probate and trust administration experience
- Strong consultative sales skills—previous experience in legal sales or client-facing roles is highly desirable
- Leadership or management experience in a legal setting
- Confident in guiding client decision-making in a compassionate, educational way
- Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and listening skills
- High personal integrity—you’ll be helping families with life’s most important decisions
What We Offer
- Competitive salary + uncapped performance bonuses
- Health insurance
- 401(k) with employer match
- Paid time off and holidays
- Professional development opportunities
- A supportive, client-centered team culture
- Hybrid work flexibility
- A role where you can use your legal knowledge to help real families in real situations—while leading a team and growing professionally
- The chance to make a measurable impact on both clients’ lives and the firm’s success
- A collaborative, supportive culture where sales is done the right way: through service, education, and relationship-building—not pressure
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Empathetic, emotionally intelligent, and people-focused
- A natural guide and educator—but also a decisive closer
- Comfortable making recommendations and leading conversations toward action
- A collaborative leader who enjoys mentoring other attorneys
- Someone who thrives on client interaction, not paperwork
- Highly organized, proactive, and driven by results—with integrity at the core of everything you do
Compensation : $100,000–$150,000 base salary, plus performance bonuses; total compensation commensurate with experience and results
