We are looking for a highly motivated and pragmatic Legal Counsel with expertise in employment law to join our Global Legal Team and help support our operations in Spain, Italy, and Portugal, while also contributing to employment-related legal initiatives globally.

This role combines regional legal expertise with global strategic thinking. You will support local employment matters (including Works Council interactions), lead documentation work, and collaborate on global policy and compliance frameworks. It’s a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven scale-up environment with international exposure.

As our Global Legal Counsel you will be a part of a Global Legal Team, supporting 19 countries. You will help raise the bar on support to a hyper-growth company on a great mission and supporting our expansion strategy. The Global Legal Team has members in different European countries and in the US.

This position can be based in either Madrid or Milan. Which of these cities will be decided by where the perfect candidate is.

Your role:

  • Southern Europe Employment Law
    • Employment contracts and contract addenda
    • Bonus schemes and incentive plans
    • Mutual termination agreements and dismissal letters
    • Templates for routine employee documentation
    • Investigations and disciplinary processes
    • Employee exits and performance-related issues
    • Act as the go-to legal partner for employment law matters in Spain, Italy, and Portugal.
    • Draft, review, and maintain employment-related documentation, including:
    • Advise on day-to-day employee relations matters, such as:
  • Works Council and Labor Relations
    • Lead legal support for Works Council interactions in Spain, including:
    • Collective consultation and negotiation processes
    • Drafting and reviewing related documentation
    • Ensuring compliance with Spanish labor law and statutory requirements
  • Support for Global Legal Projects
    • Collaborate with colleagues on the localization and rollout of global policies (e.g. Flexible Work, Bonus Plans).
    • Assist with the alignment of employment documentation across jurisdictions.
    • Contribute to international legal compliance, training, and knowledge-sharing within the Global Legal Team.
  • Cross-Functional & Strategic Collaboration
    • Work closely with People & Culture teams and business stakeholders across the company.
    • Provide guidance that balances legal compliance with business scalability and pragmatism.
    • Support the implementation of scalable, future-proof employment practices aligned with the company’s values and growth plans.

Requirements:

  • You are a qualified lawyer in Spain or Italy.
  • You have several years of post-qualification experience, with strong exposure to:
    • Employment and labor law,
    • Experience over multiple jurisdictions and/or In-house legal experience or extensive external advisory work is a plus.
  • Experience from start-ups or scale-ups and hyper-growth companies is a big plus.
  • You are fully proficient in English
  • Being fluent in Spanish and/or Italian will be a strong plus.
  • You are based in Madrid or Milan (or willing to relocate)
  • Proven ability to manage Works Council processes in Spain.
  • Experience with immigration and international mobility topics (relocation, global transfers, permits) is a strong asset.
  • Excellent legal drafting and communication skills.
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience.
  • You have a proactive, positive and solution oriented mindset.
  • You are a strong team player but also have the ability to work independently.
  • You have a true passion for sustainability - you understand the urgency of action for the planet.
  • Previous knowledge in food and beverage laws and regulations is a plus.

Internship Opportunity – HR & Organization Office

We are looking for a motivated intern to join the HR & Organization office, the team responsible for attracting, developing and retaining talent, ensuring the best possible match between people’s potential and the University’s strategic needs. The team also manages organizational development by analyzing business processes, promoting digital transformation, and ensuring alignment with the University’s evolving goals.

The intern will support the team and be involved in a wide range of activities, including:

Job Summary:

The HR Intern is responsible for providing administrative and processing support for delivery of Human Resources (HR) services at the location, and for implementing HR processes and actions. The candidate may be the first line of contact for management/employee queries and is expected to have a good grasp of the personnel/business issues with appropriate and proactive measures to regularly improve Personnel performance and employee motivation.

Essential Responsabilities and Duties:

  • Provide clerical support associated with preparing and filing HR documents, reports, performance indicators and correspondence;
  • Perform clerical duties associated with processing HR related data and information, and documentation archiving;
  • Troubleshoot data and reports;
  • Submit and follow up on the WFs in PC;
  • Monitor and sort on a daily basis the e-mails received on the PEC;
  • Follow up the payment of the fines;
  • Assist in rollout and implementation of HR programs/processes;
  • Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Help with organization and logistics of teambuilding and local community events;
  • Assist in coordinating internal and external training (both local and SLB ones) and recruitment activities;
  • Assist in updating the HR Manuals;
  • Help with the follow up of the seniority awards;
  • Support HR team with queries regarding employee relations issues and/or concerns about motivation and job satisfaction;
  • Support and assists business/line managers on interpretation and administration of Personnel policies and programs;
  • Complies with all applicable SLB standards and policies;
  • Ensure compliance with the Data Privacy & Protection Guidelines;

Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to, or in lieu of those described above, according to the needs of the location or Company.

Qualifications:

  • Currently has or is in the process of obtaining the relevant university degree in Human Resources or Business Management;
  • Interested in starting and developing a career in HR within a multinational environment;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications;
  • Proactive attitude, attention to details and drive for results;
  • Fluent English is mandatory;

Attività :

Implementazione delle procedure di formazione e sviluppo delle risorse aziendali, supporto all’attività di payroll e gestione amministrativa del personale dipendente.

Obiettivi formativi e di orientamento:

Conoscere l’organizzazione di un’impresa dal punto di vista HR e la gestione delle risorse umane (contrattuale, amministrativa e di relazione) in una realtà complessa del settore dell’edilizia.
