Software Development Leader

Responsibilities:

  • Defining and implementing software functional requirements and architectural design within the .NET technology stack, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Organizing and leading development and DevOps activities, ensuring Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) commitments are met throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Designing and contributing to the Continuous Integration (C.I.) pipeline to ensure automated builds, testing, and artifact creation for .NET applications.
  • Defining and owning the Continuous Deployment (C.D.) strategy using ArgoCD (GitOps) for automated and declarative delivery to the target environment.
  • Containerizing .NET applications using Docker and defining the necessary configurations for deployment on Kubernetes (K8s) clusters.
  • Defining and applying Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles using tools like Ansible for environment configuration management and automation.
  • Specifying, designing, and maintaining Helm charts for the effective packaging, versioning, and lifecycle management of applications within Kubernetes.
  • Ensuring the traceability of software requirements through the development, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Contributing to software and environment integration activities, coordinating with architecture and operations teams.
  • Applying and ensuring the application of DevOps processes, security standards, and coding best practices.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives (Return of Experience - RoE) related to C.I./C.D. processes and deployment reliability.
  • Contributing to the definition of the Software Configuration Management Plan related to deployment manifests and infrastructure code.
  • Maintaining and controlling Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for C.I./C.D. pipeline efficiency and deployment success, reporting progress to the relevant Domain Leader.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in the field of electronic / software engineering or computer science required
  • Hands-on development experience of software phases like requirement gathering, software development, software validation etc (minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial domain)
  • High experience in software design and implementation for complex diagnostics data management systems
  • Experience in CI/CD management and development
  • Managing work packages for sub-contractors
  • Highly proficient in both spoken and written English
  • Ability to work efficiently in team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Basic Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience of software development and deployment of distributed multi-tier applications

Secheron Hasler Italia is looking for a Software/Firmware Developer to join the R&D team at the Verona site. The Software Development we are looking for will have experience in the development of C and modern C++ applications (C++11/14/17). The ideal candidate will also be familiar with development of microcontroller FW. The new resource will collaborate on the design, new development and software/firmware maintenance of Secheron Hasler Operator Terminals (HMI) used in the railway sector and their supporting software tools.

  • Write and update technical documentation
Requirements
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering/IT or similar disciplines;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience;
  • Thorough knowledge of C and modern C++ (C++11/14/17).
  • Experience in using gnu autotools (automake)
  • Knowledge of scripting language (Bash)

Software Development Engineer (SDE) The Software Development Engineer (SDE) is responsible for implementing and debugging functionalities of the Train Control Management System (TCMS) and related subsystems within the assigned project. The role includes testing activities both on trains and on test benches (HIL for TCMS, subsystems, and simulated electrical schematics).

In particular the SDE is accountable for:

  • Implement software logic based on project requirements defined by the Control Engineer.
  • Deliver software releases for the functions and subsystems within their scope.
  • Perform TCMS debugging and support testing activities on benches and trains.
  • Provide proofreading reports following the analysis of project requirements.
  • Manage Change Requests (CRs) related to the assigned functions and subsystems.

Knowledge & Experience required: Experience on LORE platform (NTV/ETR675/PKP/SBB Trains).

  • Experience with the LORE platform (e.g., NTV, ETR675, PKP, SBB trains).
  • Solid knowledge of model-based software development tools such as Matlab/Simulink and ControlBuild, specifically in the railway domain.
  • Experience in dynamic test and commissioning of LORE Trains is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in train validation, particularly with high-speed trains.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as MVB and WTB.
  • Experience in Testing & Commissioning is a plus.
  • Ability to interface with customers on technical topics is a plus.
  • Italian speaker preferred (LORE platform documentation is in Italian).
  • Agile mindset and strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box.

Our Amazon Business team is rapidly growing and we’re looking for a Manager, Software Development to be the technical lead in charge of launching a new business venture globally.

Amazon Business (AB) aims to become the most customer-centric provider of products and procurement services for businesses and governments across the world. The AB Services team was established in Q2’22 as a key enabler of turnkey solutions that reduce costs, improve operational efficiency, and free up bandwidth to focus on core business. Services are most critical to enabling AB customer deals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of Think Big in developing something from scratch and Diving Deep to ensure we deliver a world-class solution. This leader will maintain an extremely high bar for meeting the needs of our varied customers. You will thrive on delivering results in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and be a thought leader who can build new business models, address unmet customer needs, and invent new solutions. This individual will lead a dedicated software development team to build a brand-new solution for international business customers.

Here are a few exciting things about this role: (1) The B2B market is estimated at $13.2T and AB has just started; growth potential is tremendous. (2) Amazon was a consumer-focused company first; it doesn’t yet work well with Enterprise companies. This role provides a rare opportunity to understand the end-to-end solution for how Amazon solves eCommerce at scale and then use that knowledge to shift the architecture to best enable Amazon Business. This requires innovation in large-scale, highly distributed systems with big data. It will be a team effort, partnering with some of Amazon's top technical leaders. (3) You will collaborate with diverse business and technical partners to shape our technology and be the voice of our international customers, driving technological innovation to create an unparalleled business procurement experience. This role reports to the Senior Manager and is based for IN applicants. Relocation is available for IN-based candidates, but not for international transfers.

Key job responsibilities
  • Usage of design patterns, reuse, and efficient coding practices to deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
  • Partner with offshore development teams for successful software delivery.
  • Design and develop end-to-end solutions that enhance software architecture and automate solutions.
  • Leverage cutting-edge tech to implement solutions.
  • Build reliable, high-performance Web Services, APIs, Micro-Services, Micro-Frontends, and SDKs that improve the customer experience.
  • Learn from others and help grow team members to achieve their best.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
About the team

As a Software Dev Manager on the AB Services team, you will join a highly technical and entrepreneurial team building applications to change the B2B e-commerce segment. You will participate in the full development cycle, end-to-end, from design and implementation to testing, delivery, and maintenance. You will evaluate and decide on the use of new or existing technologies and tools, and you’ll coach and mentor junior development engineers. We work in an entrepreneurial environment and deliver value incrementally and frequently. We are still in the early stages of development, so it is Day 1 every day on the team!

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of engineering experience
  • 8+ years of experience leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness
