We are looking for a Managing Legal Counsel to join the Wolters Kluwer Global Law & Compliance Department in support of the Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory division business lines operated in Italy. You will provide hands-on legal support for businesses offering software and content products and services to legal and compliance professionals. You will also manage one legal professional supporting these businesses and oversee corporate housekeeping and regulatory compliance at Wolters Kluwer Italia, which includes business units from two divisions. You will report to the Associate General Counsel for the Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory division. This position is based in Milano, Italia at the offices of Wolters Kluwer Italia.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as primary legal support to the CEO of Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory Italia and the board of directors of Wolters Kluwer Italia.
- Manage one legal professional to provide effective legal support across business functions.
- Provide legal counseling on corporate housekeeping, commercial, regulatory, and intellectual property matters, including issues related to software, content, services, and vendor relationships.
- Partner with management and various teams (sales, marketing, product, finance) to advise on legal issues, risks, intellectual property, compliance, and mergers & acquisitions.
- Assist in structuring, drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial transactions and public tenders.
- Develop and improve standard agreements, policies, and legal processes; educate teams on contracting, IP rights, and legal risks.
- Manage disputes, litigation, and relationships with outside counsel.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality legal services and contribute to departmental improvements.
Your profile:
- Fully qualified Italian lawyer.
- 8-10 years of experience in an international company or law firm with complex structures.
- Knowledge of contract, corporate, IP, privacy, and IT laws, with relevant experience.
- Proactive, independent, and able to prioritize and manage a team.
- Excellent legal and analytical skills, with strong drafting and negotiation abilities.
- Strong communication skills, confident in engaging with stakeholders.
- Fluent in Italian and English, both oral and written.
