Role Description

We are looking for a Product Development Engineer to support the use of SMA (shape memory alloys) materials in industrial applications and to develop systems for the improvement and control of SMA material production. Consequently, the role will also involve active participation in the development of internal testing instrumentation and infrastructure, supporting validation and innovation activities for shape memory alloy-based products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer needs analysis for the definition of technical specifications (meetings, calls, and web meetings).
  • Design of test setups for functional verification of the prototype.
  • Design specific internal test equipment for characterizing shape memory alloys and dedicated setups for various standard machines.
  • Prepare development pipelines considering time and cost for the different phases (concept design, sizing and design, prototyping, assembly, testing)
  • Supervision of the team for the prototype development.
  • Customer support, regarding aspects related to shape memory alloys, for the following industrialization phases of the prototype.
  • Research activities aimed at patenting, related to new topics on shape memory alloys.
  • Prepare scientific posters and articles
  • Manage research projects with external organizations on non-conventional technological topics related to shape memory alloys.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Master’s Degree in Mechatronic Engineering is preferred; related disciplines can be considered as well.
  • A study focus on product research and development, or a PhD dedicated to materials development, is considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of techniques and methods for product/device development and design.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software (Solid Edge, SolidWorks)
  • Basic knowledge in the use of common software applications.
  • Experience with modeling softwares (Matlab, Simulink)
  • Experience with software Labview, and Arduino
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of integrated quality management systems and ISO standards (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, IATF 16949:2016).
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new products for our company. We are looking for a Product Engineer , who will be based in Aliaxis Casella (GE) and will report to the Product Engineering Manager EMEA.

This figure will be in charge of overseeing the technical aspects of the assigned product line at the optimized costs. This includes managing the performance characteristics, manufacturability, quality, packaging and raw material changes of the product, ensuring that these elements align with market needs and standards defined by the Innovation and Marketing Areas.

The Key Responsibilities Can Be Summarized As Follows

  • Develop and enhance products from conceptualization to production, making design improvements that meet performance and manufacturability criteria.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify improvements opportunities, starting from performing diagnosis to assess the current situation, then identify performance gaps and potentials and select the right skilled project team to make the improvements.
  • Manage the testing and validation of the products, by performing prototype and final product testing to ensure functionality and quality and leading the pilot production (plan, supervise realization, track scheduling and cost).
  • Plan and manage the projects on overall, ensuring completion on time and within budget (opex and capex), coordinating project team, track project status and results, removing and elevating project barriers.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and product specifications, and supervise the proper implementation of documents, especially product drawings for moulds and processes.
  • Interact internally mainly with engineering teams such as project engineers, mold engineers, raw material engineers to meet with all engineering aspects of the project; and with multidisciplinary teams such as Marketing, Innovation, Manufacturing, Procurement and Sales to ensure product optimization meets expectations. Externally the product engineer will mainly interact with mold, plastic raw material and components suppliers and external laboratories.
  • From a communication point of view he will be in charge of keeping the project stakeholders informed about the status, participate on project meetings providing insights and share best practice with other product engineers.

Required Qualifications And Competencies

  • A degree in Engineering is required.
  • 3-8 years of previous experience in roles in engineering or production background are required, preferably in a multinational and structured company.
  • Fluent English is required.
  • Knowledge of project management approach or experience in managing projects is an important skill, to plan and manage product improvement projects, to ensure deadlines and objectives are met.
  • Technical skills and knowledge in mold design and polymers transformation processes are strongly recommended in order to develop a deep understanding of the product’s specifications to accurately identify improvements.
  • The candidate should have the ability to use data analysis tools to assess the performance of the product and identify areas for improvement.
  • Problem Solving attitude is important, in order to have the capability to identify recurring issues in the product and develop effective solutions to enhance its quality and functionality.
  • A good collaborative and teamwork attitude is fundamental to work closely with production, quality, and customer service teams to implement product improvements.
  • Effective communication skills are pivotal in order to clearly and concisely communicate proposed improvements and expected benefits to all stakeholders.

PRODUCT ENGINEER

La persona selezionata sarà responsabile della gestione tecnica dei prodotti lungo tutto il loro ciclo di vita, dall’ideazione alla messa in opera, collaborando con team interdisciplinari per garantire i più alti standard di qualità e affidabilità.

SI OCCUPERA’ DI
  • Supervisione del ciclo di vita del prodotto, dal concept iniziale alla produzione e implementazione.
  • Monitoraggio e risoluzione di eventuali problemi di documentazione durante il processo di produzione.
  • Collaborazione con i reparti di produzione, ingegneria di processo e qualità per valutare la tabella di valutazione dei rischi di processo e le criticità del processo di industrializzazione e collaudo dei nuovi componenti.
  • Redazione di documentazione tecnica e di manualistica per supportare l’implementazione e l’assistenza clienti.
SI RICHIEDE
  • Laurea in Ingegneria Meccanica, Elettronica, Meccatronica o affini.
  • Esperienza pregressa nel ruolo di Product Engineer o analoghi.
  • Conoscenza di software CAD 3D per progettazione e simulazione (es. SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Competenze tecniche su impianti e componenti di automazione industriale.
  • Buone capacità analitiche, problem-solving e attenzione ai dettagli.
  • Buona conoscenza dell’inglese (sia scritto che parlato).

Descrizione del ruolo:

La figura, inserita nel dipartimento Engineering, avrà il compito di seguire il prodotto dalla sua ideazione fino alla sua produzione, collaborando a stretto contatto con il dipartimento R&D e Innovation. Supporterà la traduzione concettuale (requisiti) in specifiche con l'intento di migliorarne le caratteristiche. Metterà in pratica le soluzioni tecniche migliori volte a ottimizzare la successiva fase di produzione, raggiungere i target di costo prefissati, nonché agevolarne le future modifiche e mantenimento.

Il Product Engineer coordina e/o realizza disegni e/o modelli 3D dei prodotti, esegue test e analisi sui prototipi o sui modelli digitali, ricerca e seleziona le materie prime e i materiali, monitora il processo produttivo assieme al reparto Process Engineering e garantisce la conformità del prodotto ai requisiti prefissati.

La risorsa potrà, in base alla seniority, avere un contatto diretto con i fornitori di consulenze di servizi, costruttori di stampi e attrezzature produttive e parteciperà attivamente nella selezione e scelta delle tecnologie adeguate al progetto in corso.

  • Ottima conoscenza dei sistemi di disegno tecnico CAD e Solidworks
  • Conoscenza dei sistemi di misura di particolari plastici come macchie ottiche 2D, 3D, dinamometri, durometri
  • Conoscenza delle principali tecnologie di lavorazione e produzione di materiali plastici, come stampaggio, estrusione, termoformatura, saldatura, incollaggio
  • Conoscenza delle principali tecnologie di stampa 3D da realizzare anche internamente
  • Conoscenza dei concetti di project management
  • In base alla seniority conoscenza del processo di Design Control in accordo alla ISO 13485
  • Padronanza dei sistemi office e cloud
  • Ottima conoscenza della lingua inglese
  • Diploma superiore o Laurea in materie tecnico-scientifiche

Ricerchiamo un Lean Production Engineer perun'azienda leader a livello mondiale nelsettoremanifatturierocon sede ad Arsago Seprio (VA).

The role:
  • Sviluppo prodotto e progettazione tecnica : progettare nuovi componenti (es. manici, parti funzionali) assicurandone conformità tecnica, normativa e di costo, attraverso attività di mock-up, modellazione 3D, disegni esecutivi e distinte base.
  • Gestione progetti e collaborazione interfunzionale :lavorare a stretto contatto con Project Management e funzioni aziendali (Qualità, Acquisti, Industrializzazione, Controllo di Gestione) per garantire tempi, costi e qualità.
  • Materiali, test e industrializzazione : supportare la scelta dei materiali e definire criteri di collaudo e omologazione. Partecipare attivamente a prototipazione, test funzionali e fasi produttive in Italia e all’estero.
  • Ottimizzazione tecnica e miglioramento continuo : individuare opportunità di ottimizzazione tecnica e industriale per migliorare margini, affidabilità e performance del prodotto, contribuendo alla gestione delle non conformità e al miglioramento continuo.
  • Innovazione e analisi di mercato : monitorare trend tecnologici, normative e benchmark di settore per alimentare l’innovazione e aggiornare le schede costo prodotto in collaborazione con le funzioni aziendali.
Mandatory skills:
  • Laurea in ingegneria Gestionale o Meccanica;
  • Buona conoscenza della Metodologie di Project Management;
  • Esperienza nello sviluppo di prodotto, preferibilmente in ambito industriale/manifatturiero B2B.
  • Ottima conoscenza dei materiali termoindurenti (es. bachelite) e delle tecnologie di stampaggio a iniezione e lavorazioni metalliche (tranciatura, tornitura, fresatura, ecc.).Competenza in progettazione meccanica e disegno tecnico 2D/3D (preferibile conoscenza di SolidWorks).
  • Conoscenza dei processi di industrializzazione, prototipazione e collaudo attrezzature.
