Key responsibilities include
Policy / Business Analysis and Evaluation
- Utilize statistical methods to interpret findings and provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their perspectives and incorporate their feedback into policy evaluations.
- Develop, evaluate, and revise policies to address project requests.
Project Management
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timeline, and resource allocation. Ensure successful project delivery by monitoring progress.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations. Provide regular updates, manage project changes.
Office Management
- Collaborate / gradually manage the administration of the firm.
- Collaborate to recruiting.
- Collaborate to the logistics of consultants and office infrastructures.
- Monitoring bids and developing proposals.
Data and Social Media
- Collaborate to the data / IT structure of the firm.
- Collaborate to social media / communication strategy.
Event Management
- Collaborate as Vision team to organize conferences and events, including the annual global conferences on: “Europe of the Future” (Siena), “Conference on Global Governance of Climate Change” (Trento / Venezia), “Skills for the AI world” (Los Angeles), “Cities of the Future” (Naples)
Requirements
Languages:
- Fluent English (at least C1) and Italian (at least C1)
IT:
- Proficiency in managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Buffer).
- Familiarity with tools like Hootsuite, MailChimp, Canva, Joomla, WordPress, and Google Analytics.
- Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and cloud file management systems.
Length and time commitment
The career path envisages a period of 24–36 months with a UP (with an increase of compensation / role) or OUT evaluations every 6–12 months. At the end of the period, the consultant will be offered a partnership position if successful.
The VISION career is designed so that the junior consultant can rapidly grow professionally, leveraging both the small size of the firm and the rather big scale and scope of the projects she will join. The firm provides what is perceived by its management as a unique opportunity and challenge for ambitious, enthusiastic, and still humble enough graduates who are willing to find a professional purpose.
The professional development envisaged by the position requires working mostly in person, although remote working may be allowed. The main workplace is the office in Rome with possible business travel within Italy and Europe. The Role:
ERM Italy is seeking a motivated Senior Consultant with a passion for sustainability to join our growing Liability Portfolio Management and Remediation Team in Italy.
ERM’s LPMR Service is aimed at helping clients manage environmental liabilities and realize maximum value from their contaminated land challenges. We strive to develop risk-based soil and groundwater remediation strategies that protect human health and ecology while satisfying our clients’ business goals and meeting regulatory obligations. We manage their risks and clean up their balance sheets while keeping a close eye on costs and managing stakeholders’ expectations. Our global services include site investigation, risk assessment, remediation, and redevelopment strategy development and implementation to help capture value from our clients’ active facilities and discontinued operations across the globe, supported by decommissioning and demolition services where needed.
The role will be a mixed of on-site and desk-job. Our offices are based in Milan, and we expect the consultant to be able to travel and be in the office when needed although we offer flexible working arrangements as well.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation, management, and execution of environmental field work in contaminated sites’ investigation and remediation projects
- Conduct field work, including groundwater, soil, soil vapor, air, sediment, and surface water sampling, soil logging, remediation performance monitoring
- Oversee subcontractors during soil drilling and installation, operations, and maintenance of remediation systems.
- Manage environmental data quality control, interpretation, visualization, and reporting
- Focus on project delivery, supporting the project managers. Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments
- Communicate with all project stakeholders:
colleagues, subcontractors, laboratories, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during project preparation and field activities. - Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, and cost estimates
Technical skills required:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an environmental discipline such as earth sciences, environmental sciences, hydrology/hydrogeology, geology, geochemistry, or environmental engineering.
- Fluency in Italian and English, both spoken and written. Working knowledge of another language will be considered a plus.
- Experience as environmental consultant and field manager/field technician.
- Knowledge of Italian environmental legislation, especially concerning Contaminated Sites Regulation.
- Motivated for field work, and willingness to travel primarily within Italy.
- Valid Italian driver’s license.
Other skills:
- Proactive and detail-oriented with pragmatic aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting / problem solving skills.
- Team player with the ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, and work independently under minimal supervision.
- Effective organization and analytical skills, and good communication skills both verbal and through written technical reports.
- Strong commitment to health & safety, including following established health & safety protocols.
- Knowledge of GIS software and Data management tools will be considered a plus.

Your new role
As our new environmental consultant based in the Ramboll Milan office, you will be part of our successful team composed by geologists, engineers, geotechnical experts, environmental scientists, chemists, biologists, etc. working together in an international network for a variety of projects regarding mainly contaminated site management, expert services, permitting, due diligence, impact assessment, water treatment, health and safety, climate risk and sustainability. You will contribute to a sustainable future in an open, collaborative and empowering culture.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be :
- Design of site investigations and remediation
- Support on field data collection, from a geotechnical and environmental point of view
- Data analysis and elaboration
- Support in geotechnical design
- Drafting of technical reports
- Proposal and reporting in Italian or English language
