The RoleAs an Optical System Designer at Capgemini Engineering you will work on the design of complex optical systems. You will be a key contributor in the following activities:
- Design and develop optical systems for industrial, medical, or aerospace applications.
- Analyze and simulate optical performance using dedicated software (e.g., Zemax, Code V).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electronic, software) for system integration.
- Define technical requirements and project specifications.
- Support prototyping and lab validation activities.
- Optimize optical systems considering cost, performance and manufacturability constraints.
- Prepare technical documentation and project reports.
- Interface with suppliers for optical components and manage test and validation activities.
- Degree in Physics or related field.
- Experience in optical system design and knowledge of main simulation software.
- Knowledge of imaging technologies, lasers, fiber optics or optical sensors.
- Ability to work in a team and independently manage projects.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Nice to have: PhD in Physics.

- Investigate the Verification and Validation (V&V) test failures for corrective actions
- Investigate events and faults occuring during commercial service in order to identify the root cause
- Define the most suitable T&C strategy and follow Baseline deployment on field
- Good level of English and technical background
- Basic knowledge about ATC equipment and functionalities
- Basic knowledge of traffic management principles
- Good knowledge of DFQ cycle
- Global system view preferably in metro context
- Ability to work in team
- Flexibility and availability to travel mainly in Italy
