Pay Range: $16-$8 per hour, with flat rate 26- 38, based on experience.

Responsibilities include:

1. Performing brakes, suspension, tire installation, scheduled maintenance, and automotive repairs within your qualifications.
2. Getting guest approval for work after diagnosis and maintaining a clean work area.
3. Completing vehicle inspections and repairs/maintenance.
4. Test driving vehicles and using shop vehicles safely for inventory pickup.
5. Collaborating with teammates and providing leadership to General Service Technicians.
6. Being state certified.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. State certification.
3. At least 2 years of automotive technician experience.
4. Valid Driver’s License.
5. Own basic automotive tools or participate in our tool purchase program.
6. Ability to work with hands overhead, stand long hours, and lift up to 50 lbs.
7. Guest and team-focused mindset.
8. State certification in Michigan.

Job Description

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components
• Complete repair orders and warranty request orders in accordance with established Kia and Retailer policies and procedures
• Test drive vehicles, and analyze, diagnose, and repair components and systems using Kia diagnostic strategies, special equipment, and tools
• Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs in a timely fashion while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to promote an optimal customer experience

Overview

The Automotive Service Technician services and repairs vehicles following all established standards and procedures. They may be assigned to conduct pre-delivery service on new vehicles to ensure excellent working order for the customer. The Service Technician must deliver the highest quality service while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.

• Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs
• Performs routine service inspections or tests and completes standard maintenance jobs
• Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
• Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions
• Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules
• Attends all staff meetings, training, and educational classes as required
• Performs other duties as assigned
