JOB SUMMARY:
The Environmental Services Supervisor (EVS) will perform housekeeping duties and will oversee the work by the housekeeping staff, ensuring that all assigned areas are cleaned and serviced as defined for each role. This position will coordinate schedules, monitor work orders, maintain supplies, and keep the Program Manager informed of any personnel, housekeeping, or maintenance issues. This role is visible to customers, , and visitors, and therefore plays an important role in customer satisfaction as a member of the Brewer-Garrett Company and client teams. The EVS Supervisor may be required to work weekend shifts on occasion to cover call offs, and provide support as needed.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean assigned areas based on scheduling and when needed/requested: Wash furnishings and equipment and mop floors using designated cleaning solutions and disinfectants. Dust all furniture surfaces, windows and window coverings, floors, equipment, etc.
- Thoroughly clean bathroom areas regularly, including sinks, tubs/showers, toilets, mirrors, floors, or other equipment. Remove soiled linens for laundering and replace with new linens.
- Replenish supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items where needed.
- Collect and dispose of trash, wash wastebaskets and refuse containers when needed, and reline with plastic bags.
- Perform deep cleaning of assigned areas or other areas within the building when needed or requested.
- Report mechanical failures or negative conditions observed in assigned area to the Program Manager.
- Create work schedules for assigned employees on a monthly basis, based on customer need and availability.
- Maintain electronic copies of schedule for distribution.
- Responsible for submitting timesheets for payroll for EVS employees.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager as needed to suggest and implement changes.
- Address personnel issues of direct reports and escalate to the Program Manager as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of this role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience with a housekeeping role
- Cleaning a medical or residential facility
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to successfully pass a background check, fingerprint screening, and drug testing
- Ability to participate in a Tuberculosis blood test, and produce a negative result
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with the hiring of maintenance technicians.
- Implements and coordinates the following programs for the Facilities Staff: Training ( and Job Skill), Quality Control, Processes and Procedures, Computerized Maintenance Management System, Budgetary and Financial Control Systems, and Safety Programs
- Monitors and inspects maintenance, repair, and cleaning operations for quality control and contract compliance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Must be familiar with and able to use common housecleaning tools, equipment and solutions to keep areas clean and well serviced.
- Must be able to accurately measure and apply cleaning solutions.
- Must maintain knowledge of and remain alert of hazards while using cleaning equipment, tools, and solutions.
- Good communication skills (oral and written); must be able to effectively relay information and demonstrate ability to follow oral and written instructions; must demonstrate professionalism and tact in all interactions
- Must maintain positive working relationships with company employees, supervisors, leadership, and client personnel. Must demonstrate professional and friendly interactions with and visitors.
- Good organization skills with the ability to effectively manage responsibilities with limited oversight
- Demonstration of time-management skills and ability to complete work within the expected timeline
- Must possess good computer skills including but not limited to; email, and the company's web-based applications for time keeping and payroll when necessary
- Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates in a medical residential facility. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Physical effort required by the job includes: stand; walk; sit; stoop; pull; push; reach and reach above shoulder; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; climb stairs; talk; and hear. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- This job requires exposure to and handling of hazardous materials, including but not limited to cleaning agents and equipment. Personal protective equipment must be worn as required and proper use of equipment per instruction manuals is necessary.
