Descrizione Del Lavoro

Logistics Operations Manager , Japan Data Center Ops Logistics

Job ID: | Amazon Data Services Japan G.K.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all the servers, storage, networking, power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

We’re looking for a Logistics Operations Manager who can lead in a dynamic, evolving environment. As the operational backbone of our Data Center logistics team, you’ll direct the flow of materials, equipment, and inventory through shifting priorities, anticipate and resolve challenges before they escalate, and build resilient systems that adapt as fast as the business does.

You’ll need the strategic ability to sketch a high-level vision for the future and the analytical acumen to translate that vision into an executable plan. You’ll partner extensively with infrastructure, supply chain, safety, security, finance and customer teams as the business scales while ensuring day-to-day excellence.

You’ll provide technical guidance, professional advice and developmental training to your team, while leading logistics improvement initiatives across the East cluster. This role focuses on managing complex operations, executing change initiatives, and ensuring strong coordination between local teams and global stakeholders.

You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Key job responsibilities
  • Oversee operations across multiple sites and ensure the efficient, compliant, and secure flow of materials, parts, and equipment within our logistics network.
  • Manage daily inbound and outbound activities, monitor inventory accuracy, and coordinate with warehouse, transportation, and procurement teams to ensure service level commitments are consistently met.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics operations across the cluster, coordinating scheduling, shipment planning and cross-site issue resolution. Oversee the execution of shipments between locations, supervise on-site activities such as receiving, unpacking, and verifying contents, and ensure workspaces maintain the highest standards of safety, order, and compliance.
  • Provide direction and resource planning for your team, define and track performance metrics, and drive accountability across sites. Lead change management initiatives and project rollouts, ensuring smooth adoption of new systems and processes. Align local operations with global priorities and business objectives through collaboration with internal partner teams.
  • Identify bottlenecks through root cause analysis, recommend and implement targeted process changes, and champion initiatives that deliver measurable efficiency gains, reduce waste, and strengthen overall performance across the cluster.
  • Occasional travel across the cluster may be required.
