Overview

The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all Secretariat Entities, Peacekeeping and Special Political Missions, Agencies, Funds and Programmes of the UN system worldwide. This position is located in the Supply Chain Service, in support of the Return-Refurbish-Reuse (3R) Program, and reports to the Chief, 3R Program.

Responsibilities
  1. Within delegated authority, the Data Analysis Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Contributes to the preparation of reports based on organizational needs and requirements for reporting and analysis.
  • Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
  • Supports more senior staff in their work on process improvement mechanisms.
  • Contributes to the preparation of data sets, being responsible for the acquisition and initial cleaning of data from primary and secondary data systems, and documents data sets used.
  • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of databases, contributes to data collection projects products, tools and processes to extend the capabilities of client offices.
  • Contributes to the identification and analysis of patterns in data sets using various methods.
  • Prepares data sets upon request; responds to queries/requests and maintains/updates web pages.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Experience

Seven (7) years of experience in data science, data analytics, applied mathematics, information management, or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to five (5) years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience with data transformation, data gathering, integration tools, ERP databases, data structures, or reporting functionalities is required. Experience with developing business analytics dashboards is desirable. Experience conducting surveys and analyzing feedback from a wide range of stakeholders on the development and progress of different projects is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this job opening, English is required. There are no additional desirable languages specified.     Job location: Milan We are seeking a dynamic and result-driven Retail Data Analysis Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for regional retail data and business analysis by supporting retail team in collecting and organizing various reports and materials, managing data dashboard setup and system maintenance to achieve final target.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for regional retail data and business analysis, updates, maintenance, and management. Responsible for the setup and maintenance of regional retail data dashboards, and the output of retail data standards and templates. Liaise with retail IT and maintain/refresh systems. Collect, compile, and organize project weekly reports, monthly reports, KPIs, project progress reports, and other various materials.

    QUALIFICATION: Proficient in using Office, especially Excel and other daily office software, with a strong sensitivity to data and excellent data and spreadsheet processing skills. Proficient in English communication, can be used as a working language. Over 3 years of experience in data analysis. Diligent, steady, meticulous, and careful in work, striving for accuracy. Optimistic and cheerful, with good communication and coordination skills, a strong sense of professionalism, and team spirit.
