Overview
The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all Secretariat Entities, Peacekeeping and Special Political Missions, Agencies, Funds and Programmes of the UN system worldwide. This position is located in the Supply Chain Service, in support of the Return-Refurbish-Reuse (3R) Program, and reports to the Chief, 3R Program.
Responsibilities- Within delegated authority, the Data Analysis Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Contributes to the preparation of reports based on organizational needs and requirements for reporting and analysis.
- Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
- Supports more senior staff in their work on process improvement mechanisms.
- Contributes to the preparation of data sets, being responsible for the acquisition and initial cleaning of data from primary and secondary data systems, and documents data sets used.
- Contributes to the creation and maintenance of databases, contributes to data collection projects products, tools and processes to extend the capabilities of client offices.
- Contributes to the identification and analysis of patterns in data sets using various methods.
- Prepares data sets upon request; responds to queries/requests and maintains/updates web pages.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Assists with analysis, modeling and interpretation of data in support of decision-making. Writes queries, assists with report drafting and prepares findings for presentations and other products. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to five (5) years for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience with data transformation, data gathering, integration tools, ERP databases, data structures, or reporting functionalities is required. Experience with developing business analytics dashboards is desirable. Experience conducting surveys and analyzing feedback from a wide range of stakeholders on the development and progress of different projects is desirable.
